So, finally, my beloved Mauritius is open for tourists once again and I can’t wait to get back there.
I am a huge fan of the Beachcomber resorts and am extremely excited to have started sending clients back there for the full re-opening of the island, including honeymooners to one of my favourite hotels, Trou Aux Biches.
I have a big soft spot for this paradise place - it’s just perfect for honeymooners - and in my opinion, has the best sunsets on the island.
There is also some exciting news about the Shandrani, a firm family favourite set in the Blue Bay Marine Park.
A great deal of work has taken place during the Covid months, not just in relation to the pandemic and to comply with the group's environmental responsibilities but also the launch of Le Boucanier - a new restaurant, two new all-inclusive packages - Serenity and Serenity Plus that are also interchangeable with some of the other Beachcomber resorts, the unique Petit kids club for 2 and 3-year-olds - a rarity in any hotel and a water-skiing academy. There are also plans afoot for further refurbishment. I hope to get there soon to report back. Please ask if there is any further information you would like on these new improvements in the meantime.
The Shandrani is a fantastic resort with countless things for guests to do during their stay, from unwinding on one of the three beaches, indulgent spa afternoons, several complimentary land and water sports including great snorkelling, tennis courts and a pitch and putt golf course.
There are some excellent current offers to be had across all the Beachcomber resorts, including, for my Scottish clients, an attractive Glasgow departure. For those looking for some winter sun this Christmas, Mauritius is a great option for both couples or the whole family, with some availability still and including direct flights on Air Mauritius.
